Each young person will work through issues that may be impacting on their ability to re- engage in school. Young people attend to address their individual
needs and thus some will attend every day, while others will have allocated days that fit around their school work.

Our program is totally flexible and unique programme that is tailored around the specific needs of each individual young person with every young person
receiving both one to one tutoring and involvement in group work, volunteering, career development and long-term supported work placements.

Partnership

We understand that some young people may have been experiencing problems at school for a number of years and we do not expect miracles overnight, neither do we expect pupils to slot into a pre-pared timetable. Each young person attending Relief Centre will work to a timetable that has been designed around them, has also been designed with their input and is 100% personal to that young person. Our aim is to change their perception of education from perhaps a negative experience to a positive one and to then build on this by providing a well structured tailor made individual timetable.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do we have official policies & procedures?

We have a whole range of policies, procedures, risk assessments and evidence file of work that we have done - please ask to come in and have a look at any time. All of our staff are fully qualified and experienced and receive on-going in house and external training, are CRB checked and are all pursuing additional career development through either college or university.

Why are we different to other providers?

We are different to other education providers as we work with young people on an individual basis and help them to produce their own individual learning plan. We believe that learning should be fun, not target driven but stimulated with learning incentives like technology and that once young people are involved in planning their own future, attendance improves, confidence grows and the young person leaves us ready to take on the world.

What qualifications can young people achieve?

Qualifications include – Support with GCSE Maths, English, Adult Literacy, Numeracy, ICT, Key Skills, Citizenship, Motor Vehicle Mechanics, Football Coaching, Health & Social Care and various on-line courses and anything else that may be appropriate for that young person to make that leap into further education or apprenticeships.
